Xavier Baseball ready for the big season

CEDAR RAPIDS – Summer is just around the corner, which means baseball has started.

Xavier wants to make a name for himself when he moves to class 3A.

The Saints return to several seniors who played last year when the team ran to the 4A state tournament before being expelled from Sioux City East.

Future North Carolina Tar Heel Mitch Keller will return as an ace for the team’s pitching team. Adam Pick will take his place on first base again. It will also power the stroke order. Bryce Grimm returns for the third time in midfield. He brings back 32 hits and a batting average of 0.262.

The Saints started the season at the Metro tournament and finished third with a 10-2 win over Linn-Mar. They are 3-2 overall, 2-0 in the MVC.
