Walnut Hills High School Senior selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar

Congratulations to Kasey Shao, a graduate of Walnut Hills High School who was selected as the 2021 US Presidential Fellow.

Shao is one of 161 high school graduates recognized nationwide for achievements in science, arts, careers, and technical education. Shao was recognized as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts.

“The 2021 Presidential Scholars represent extraordinary accomplishments for our extraordinary times,” said US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. “I am delighted to join President Biden in honoring these outstanding young people for their achievements, service, character and continued pursuit of excellence. Your examples make me proud and hopeful for the future. Honoring them can remind us all of the great potential in each new generation and renew our commitment to helping them achieve their dreams. “

The US Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, has recognized more than 7,600 of the top performing students in the country. The Presidential Scholars Class 2021 will be honored for its outstanding achievements this summer. Shao plans to go to Princeton University this fall.
