UC Football loses Director of Recruitment to Notre Dame | Sports

The University of Cincinnati soccer team defeated the University of Houston 38-10 at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

The University of Cincinnati (UC) soccer team will lose another employee to Notre Dame. Chad Bowden, Bearcat’s director of recruiting, will join Notre Dame, former defense coordinator Marcus Freeman. Bowden confirmed with The Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday.

Since the announcement of Freeman’s departure, UC has also lost some key defensive recruiting commitments. External linebacker recruit from the 2022 class, Melvin Jordan, was the biggest loss, announcing on Twitter that he will be stepping down from UC “due to the change of coaching staff at the University of Cincinnati”.

Bowden and Freeman will join another former Cincinnati coach. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly coached the Bearcats for three full seasons before joining the Fighting Irish in 2010. Kelly held a record of 34-6 while he was the Bearcats head coach.

Head coach Luke Fickell and the UC Bearcats will face the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium on October 2nd next season.
