Cincinnati-based TriHealth acquired Cardiology Associates of Cincinnati as part of its efforts to integrate cardiac care through the creation of the TriHealth Heart Institute, according to a TriHealth press release.
The healthcare system, which includes the Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Cincinnati, will employ the 13 cardiology group doctors, who will continue to treat patients at the group’s current eight locations.
The TriHealth Heart Institute is one of two specialty institutes that TriHealth announced in mid-May. The TriHealth Cancer Institute was also founded.
“This innovative collaboration between TriHealth and Cardiology Associates of Cincinnati will help streamline the integration of hospitals, doctors and community resources,” said John Prout, President and CEO of TriHealth. “This collaboration will have a positive impact on the quality of patient-centered heart care and, ultimately, the heart health status of our community as a whole.”
