EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Police Department held the first in a series of city hall meetings with various command posts across the city.
The Thursday evening meeting focused on the EPPD’s Westside Regional Command Center and sparked a long discussion on recent problems in the Cincinnati Entertainment District. Part of it can be seen in the video player at the top of this article.
Commandant Steven Lopez gave a presentation on crime on the west side of El Paso and the available police services and public issues.
This public discussion was dominated by complaints from residents of the Kern Place neighborhood about issues with bars in the adjacent Cincinnati district, which residents say have become a magnet for crime.
