The murder of the former elder basketball star is still unsolved after a year

Thomas Biedenharn was found dead at his home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana last year. The police are still working to find out who killed him.

Biedenharn was from the 1962 Elder class. He was a standout center for the basketball team from 1960 to 1961, which was hailed as one of the best in school history. He continued to play at the University of Cincinnati.

He was 73 years old when Indiana State Police said he was killed. No arrests have been made since then.

“This case is challenging because we have no arrests after the one year anniversary and we are still waiting for the person who has the crucial tip in this case to come forward,” said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said Monday.

Friends and family have the Facebook page called Who Killed Big Tom? keep the public informed of the incident. Billboards have been posted around Lawrenceburg promoting a $ 50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Elder's Tom Biedenharn raised and scores two points against Dunbar, as shown in the Elder yearbook.

“We continue to hope that this will be resolved and that if he had given this person something to help his grandchildren grow up, we would get the ‘WHY’ answer,” said a recently published post.

Biedenharn was killed on Memorial Day weekend 2018. His body was found by police on May 28th.

“Our detectives are still actively working on this case and following the lead,” said Wheeles. “”[They] are dedicated to this case and we are confident that it is only a matter of time before the person or those responsible are arrested and held accountable. “
