Altissimo wins the Babst-Palacios-Monument 2019 under Christian Pilares.
The first of the Best of Ohio series airs on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Belterra Park. There will be five stakes totaling $ 500,000 showcasing the best in the state-bred competition. The series will take place on all three Ohio thoroughbred tracks later this year to promote the Ohio racing and breeding program.
There are five races at different distances for Ohio registered races for men and women. The following nominations are aimed at the races.
The Best of Ohio Babst / Palacious Memorial is set to host six furlongs for registered 3-year-olds. The nominees are the former Ohio Horse of the Year and the champion sprinter Altissimo from Richard Zielinski’s barn, who won over US $ 834,534 in purses for life.
The Diana Stakes are for 3 year old registered Ohio fillies and mares traveling six furlongs. The nominee is the former national champion Drillit from the stable of Robert M. Gorham, who won over 412,770 US dollars.
The Norm Barron / Queen City Oaks are intended for registered Ohio fillies traveling 1 1/16 miles. Alexandra is nominated from Timothy E. Hamm’s barn. The Constitution’s Daughter has amassed a profit of $ 201,945.
The Sydney Gendelman Stakes travel 1 1/16 miles on the grass for registered 3-year-old Ohio-Breds; The nominee is Gone Too Soon from Robert Guciardo’s barn and wins $ 353,223.
The Green Carpet Stakes are for 3 year old registered Ohio Breds who ride 1 1/16 miles on the grass. Brig from Robert M. Gorham’s barn is nominated for the race. He has amassed $ 140,020 in wallet funds.
