Stephen Lynn Bledsoe, 76, of Salem, Ohio, died at his home on Sunday April 4, 2021.
He was born to his parents on June 18, 1944 in Huntington, W. Virginia. the late Hawkins and Opal (Fellure) Bledsoe.
He married Molly (Hamilton) on July 12, 1969 and lived 44 years of wonderful lives together until she died in 2014. Stephen was a proud member of the US Army, where he spent two terms in Vietnam. He was with General Motors from the opening of the plant until his retirement in 1999 after more than 32 years of employment. His main responsibility was loading the new cars onto the trains. Stephen liked to watch the nightly news to keep up with everything that was going on in the world. He was a fan of old style country music. He was a nature man with a heart. Fishing and hiking were Stephen’s most enjoyable activities. Stephen used to love to drive around with his brothers and see where the back streets would lead them. Stephen had a wonderful sense of humor and a big heart that went with it.
Stephen is survived by his son; Stephen (Crystal) Bledsoe of Alabama, 4 grandchildren; Morgan and Taylor Bledsoe, Vivien Murphy, Henry Hood, brothers; John (Karen) Bledsoe from Charleston, W. Virginia, David (Trujean) Bledsoe and Jim (Karen) Bledsoe from Fairmont, W. Virginia.
In addition to his wife and parents, a grandson dies before Stephen. Ralph Murphy, who passed away in 2016.
A life ministry celebration will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Service, 1617 E. State Street, Salem, Oh. 44460. Visiting hours are on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The Salem Honor Guard will pay military honors at the beginning of the service on Saturday.
Stephen will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery (4500 Foley Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45238) on Monday, April 12, 2021.
