State Senator Bill Cunningham joins the Better Government Association fight to publicize Navy Pier Chicago documents through FOIA

CHICAGO (WLS) – Senator Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, has tabled a bill that would make Navy Pier a public group.

That means information about the pier could be disclosed in Freedom of Information Act requests.

Six years ago, the BGA sued Navy Pier over documents that have long been public. In December, the court agreed that the documents should be available.

After losing in the appeals court, Navy Pier moved the case to the Illinois Supreme Court in January.
