In addition to the above, you must meet the requirements described below: GS-13 LEVEL: You must have 1 year of special experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility that corresponds to the GS-12 class in federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience demonstrating completing legal, tax accounting, or other project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of federal tax laws, regulations, precedents, or other areas related to the position being filled. This knowledge is typically evidenced by assignments where the applicant has analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management on important aspects of federal tax laws, ordinances and precedence decisions. Examples of qualifying specialist experience are: • Creation of legal notices, reviews or drafts of decisions, letters of assessment or advice in connection with federal taxation. • Analyze and evaluate tax claims, appeals, settlement offers, or similar work in connection with federal tax transactions. • Conduct legal research and analysis, and prepare briefs or similar documents to interpret laws and regulations. • Work as an accountant, tax advisor, finance manager, auditor, or investigator requiring the application of federal tax accounting principles and / or the Internal Revenue Code and related laws. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable: You must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks (placement deadline).
