SEATTLE – The Seattle Mariners will host the 2023 All-Star Baseball Game at T-Mobile Park.
The team announced this at a press conference on Thursday in Seattle’s Space Needle with baseball commissioner Rob Manfred.
Seattle will host the All-Stars for the third time. The baseball stadium, then known as Safeco Field, opened in 1999 and was the site of the 4-1 American League victory in 2001, part of a series of 12 AL victories for the 7-7 tie in 2002. The game marked the final all-star appearances by Cal Ripken Jr., who homered, and by Tony Gwynn.
The 1979 All-Star Game took place in the old Kingdome and was won 7-6 by the NL.

Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez will attend the press conference along with Mariners Chairman John Stanton and Business President Catie Griggs.
This year’s All-Star Game was moved from Truist Park in Atlanta to Denver’s Coors Field because the MLB objected to changes in Georgia’s electoral law that critics said were too restrictive.
Next year’s All-Star Game will take place on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The Dodgers were supposed to host the 2020 All-Star Game, but it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
MLB announced in 2019 that the 2026 All-Star Game will take place as part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of American independence at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
MLB All-Star Game is expected to return to Seattle
Baseball fans are already planning the chance for the MLB All-Star Game to come to Seattle for the first time since 2001.
