There are at least 10 people who are either declared candidates for Mayor of Cincinnati or are deeply contemplating running for office next year. The criminal complaint against PG Sittenfeld, previously the leader, has opened the floodgates.
Candidates have until February 18 to petition the mayor. There will be a primary on May 4, and the top two players will face each other in the November 2021 election.
Howard Wilkinson, Senior Political Analyst at WVXU, spoke to News Director Maryanne Zeleznik about the upcoming mayoral contest. Wilkinson says that not everyone who thinks about running will actually petition them.
