Pilar, an Ernest Hemingway-inspired bar, is coming to Cincinnati

A new bar with a Key West vibe is coming to Court Street in downtown.

Pilar, a tribute to Ernest Hemingway and named after Hemingway’s boat, will open in late July or early August, the Four Entertainment Group said.

“Pilar will serve beer, wine and cocktails with a Key West vibe,” said 4EG. “The space will be outfitted with nautical-inspired surfaces and tropical plants. The interior will include a rounded bar and visual representations of the classic writer’s boat named after his second wife, Pauline.”

Pilar is located at 56 E. Court St. and will also have a front patio. The space rented by 3CDC is located directly across from Kroger on the Rhine and is part of the recently renovated Court Street Plaza.

“We are excited to be part of the revitalized Court Street plans. We have worked with 3CDC on several projects in the past and are confident that Pilar will bring charm and character to the corner of Court and Walnut, ”said Bob Deck, Managing Partner at 4EG.

Pilar is 4EG’s 14th location in the greater Cincinnati area. They also run The Lackman, Keystone Bar & Grill, Keystone’s Mac Shack, The Righteous Room, and The Stretch.
