Pi pizzeria plans to open a facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. The new restaurant will be the seventh Pi, after five in St. Louis and one in Washington, DC

Alex to you at NextSTL.com broke the news today.

“The Cincinnati dining scene is booming and we just had to be a part of it,” owner Chris Sommers wrote in an email. “A few years ago I could have said they were a few years behind St. Louis, but it is.” only on fire now. “

“My wife Anne is from Cincinnati and we visit several times each year,” added Sommers. “Cincinnati is a huge part of my personal life and I can’t wait to do business there. Plus, my in-laws have been promising this restaurant to their friends and families since we started dating 6 years ago!”

The new Pi will feature craft beer from St. Louis as well as from Cincinnati, where Sommers said the craft beer scene has “exploded” in recent years.

The new Pi will be located in the AT580 building in downtown Cincinnati, and St. Louis company SPACE Architecture will design the space.

The original Pi opened in the Delmar Loop in 2008. That same year, it caught national attention when then-US Senator Barack Obama raved about his pizza during a campaign visit to St. Louis.
