Mary Margaret Hertz “Peggy” Cunningham, 62, of Worthville, Kentucky, died on March 27, 2021 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was born on March 5, 1959 in Louisville to John N. Hertz Jr. and Mary A. Hertz. She grew up in Madison, Indiana and graduated from Shawe Memorial High School in 1977. She moved to Bloomington, Indiana to attend college at Indiana University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy. She moved to Fort Meyers, Florida, where she served as both CNA and activity director and married Bill Cunningham in Fort Meyers. She was a Christian and enjoyed pampering her cats, listening to rock music – especially Guns N ‘Roses – and working with seniors at the local senior center. She was a volunteer lifeguard and loved being in and around the water.

Among the survivors is her brother, John Thomas Hertz of Nashville, Indiana; her sisters Mary Denise McKenzie from Olympia, Kentucky and Kathleen Mary Hertz from Bloomington; and three nephews, three nieces, four cousins, and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 5, 2020; her grandmother Florence Hertz; and a nephew.

The funeral services will take place on Wednesday March 31st at 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Center in Madison. The funeral will take place at a later date in Fairmount Cemetery on Madison’s Hill. You can visit the funeral home until the service on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
