Paytm Money will hire 250 engineers for its new technology center in Pune

Paytm Money, the financial services division for digital payments, has set up a technology development and innovation center in Pune. The new facility is set to drive product innovation, particularly in the areas of stocks, mutual funds and digital gold, the company said in a statement.

The company is hiring for 250 front-end, back-end and data scientist engineers. Paytm Money is headquartered in Bengaluru and already employs over 300 people.

“We continue our vision of using technology to reduce costs for our consumers and provide a solid, innovative and stable platform. We need solid engineering talent to fulfill our ambitions, ”said Varun Sridhar, CEO of Paytm Money.

In a recent interview, Sridhar had also said that Paytm Money will break even in three years.

The online investment platform offers stock brokers, mutual funds, and other wealth management services. In addition, it recently launched IPO investments on its platform which allows retail investors to apply for investments in IPOs in India.

It had also ventured into futures & options (F&O) trading on its platform.

Paytm Money’s numerous new features are aimed at gaining market share in the online wealth management industry. The company already has over seven million users and hopes to have 10 million users and 75 million annual transactions by fiscal year 21.
