Sometime in March, Pfizer will double the number of vaccines shipped to the US compared to the vaccines currently shipping.
Ohio currently receives approximately 73,000 Pfizer vaccines each week. DeWine is confident the state will see a 40% increase in line with the national bump.
He added that the state has also recently started receiving more Moderna vaccines. Two weeks ago, Ohio received about 73,000 vaccines. This week the state received 105,600 Moderna vaccines.
DeWine will reassess a statewide curfew next Thursday as the number of coronavirus hospital stays in Ohio continues to decline.
The curfew is currently from 11pm to 5am. If hospital admissions stay below 3,000 patients for seven consecutive days, the curfew will be adjusted to midnight to 5 a.m. The curfew will be lifted completely if hospital admissions are below 2,500 for seven consecutive days.
Less than 2,500 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized for three days in Ohio on Thursday, according to ODH. Hospital admissions were less than 3,000 patients for 10 consecutive days.

A public-private partnership team, including experts from Ohio’s banking and insurance companies, will help solve problems with the state’s unemployment system.
Pat Tiberi, President and CEO of the Ohio Business Roundtable, helped develop the partnership.
“These experts will provide recommendations and solutions to improve the unemployment call center, application process and fraud detection in the state unemployment system,” said DeWine. “You will study short-term and long-term improvements.”
The team’s goal is to act quickly while looking for the best long-term processes for the future.
Ohio disbursed nearly $ 100 million this week to 110,000 residents who are traditionally unemployed, the governor said.
“This means some extended weeks of benefit plus an additional $ 300 per week that was included in the new federal aid,” DeWine said.
As of this weekend, more than 155,000 Ohioans will also benefit from the federal aid plan, including people who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
