Obama plans star-studded 60th birthday party on Martha’s Vineyard | Barack Obama

It looks like former President Barack Obama is preparing to throw the (outdoor) party of the summer.

The 44th president is reportedly pulling out all the stops when it comes to his upcoming birthday. Obama, who turns 60 on Wednesday, invites dozens of friends this weekend to celebrate with him at his property in Martha’s Vineyard. According to Hill, Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney are on the guest list.

Obama and his family bought the home, which sits on nearly 30 acres, on Martha’s Vineyard Island, Massachusetts in 2019 for $ 11.75 million, according to the Vineyard Gazette.

High-profile birthday parties are no stranger to the Obamas. The President’s 55th birthday celebration at the White House five years ago included guests including Magic Johnson, Stevie Wonder, Ellen DeGeneres and Paul McCartney.

The White House officially announced the event on the day of the party, according to the New York Times.

“The guest list includes a large number of family members and friends to celebrate the occasion. The private event is financed from the family’s personal assets, ”a statement said.

At that last party, a source told Hill, “It’s going to be big.”

For the past few months, Obama has been busy building his influence in the entertainment world. It was announced last week that he and Bruce Springsteen will be releasing a book based on a podcast they made with Spotify. Like the podcast, the book will be titled Renegades: Born in the USA.

Obama also runs a production company with his wife Michelle that is preparing a number of projects in collaboration with Netflix.
