GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – Newbie ECU baseball player Josh Moylan was named AAC Player of the Week, while first-year Carson Whisenhunt was named for the second consecutive year, the league said on Monday.

Moylan set a team best of 500 (7-14) with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and three hits in the Pirates’ 3-1 week.
Whisenhunt scored his first college win in a 9-2 win over Georgia Southern on Sunday. The left man hit 11 batters at career height in a career-best 6.2-inning, making it the first ECU starting pitcher since 1998 to hit double-digit strikeouts in consecutive starts. Whisenhunt knocked out ten batters on his first start against Rhode Island and now has a total of 21 strikeouts in just 10.2 innings.
The pirates return to action on Wednesday March 3rd as they host Old Dominion at 4 p.m. at Clark LeClair Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN +.
