and I look like the little drummer because I got fashion advice from Justin Bieber. Hey guys whats up? My name is Rob Thomas and I will look back on 20 years of my most famous photos. Yes / Yes. I don’t even know what to make of it. What’s going on there? If anyone has ever come up to me and said, Rob, what’s the closest thing to softcore porn? It was apparently that day. Yes, this is a photo of Matchbox 20. It is now 03. I don’t know because I remember it. I know because it was the VH one Big and 03 Awards. There was one thing that happened in the nineties when it looked like you were taking a picture and trying to make yourself look cool and tired. But now we’re all really high. This is a picture of me with President Obama and Michelle, First Lady Obama. The special thing about this picture is that it was around Christmas time and I had two things that I wanted to wear. I wanted to wear this shirt where I looked like the little drummer now. I wore this for the performance because it was a Christmas performance and I felt festive. But I brought a grown man suit to meet the president. But instead, when I was about to put the suit on, a then 16-year-old Justin Bieber looked at me and said, hey man, that’s cool. I would wear that. And I looked like the little drummer because I got fashion advice from Justin Bieber. This is what me and my wife and the guys in my band have affectionately referred to as Rob Thomas. Hair clip earrings only worked with Rob Thomas hair. A lot of people don’t realize that. I think I was responsible for selling a lot of hoop earrings between 1996 and 1999, one of my all time favorite times. This is me and the great Willie Nelson. Definitely high on this photo. We spent a few days together writing music and then he recorded three of my songs that I had written but I hadn’t recorded them yet. He just liked you. Don’t get close to living legends very often and I’ve been lucky enough to know some of them. And this man here is my god. Now this picture has been cut off, but just want to point out, come on. I had crazy good legs for a kid. I looked like I was in a commercial and I was working on it too. Like I’m not just sitting there. I just checked out those legs. I was suggested a little for a child. I think I was sexually advanced. This is what my wife calls my Harry Potter picture. I stand thrilled to have won a Grammys, and I mean again, it’s a poignant big moment in my life. What’s wrong with this jacket? Nineties fashion did many bad things to a lot of good people. This is me with my son Mason who is now 21 years old which gives you an idea of how young I am here. This is Mason, just like last year, with Matchbox on stage, a very, very proud moment for a dad where you can go from this little guy to this little guy and now he’s bigger than me but I can take him because I’ve got old man strength folks here at Esquire. They call these my most iconic photos. These are good photos, but I’ve done a lot of things. I’m very famous just go out there and find your own too because they’re out there. I’m sure. Yes / Yes.
