Marty doesn’t have anyone trying to take away the whole show and vice versa. I think that’s why people enjoy us more, because we’ll have fun up there. We like to bump into each other every now and then, just like in the clubhouse. I mean, we’ve been together for 31 years and I’ve told you about all the good things that happened to me through this job. The fact that he and I were together for 31 years is the longest time any show has. has also done. Major League Baseball Reds are going to win, you know. I will tell you there. You know, of course I’m an eternal optimist. That’s out of the question. I think they will win the pennant every year. And the last time I was with him was the Kenwood Country Club. And we’re sitting on the 14th tee box in Ken Wood and he told me we really had a good time, didn’t we? And um, it was so out of character, friend and me, and all I could do was say, yeah, we really did it. And then, four days later, he died. That’s it. Exactly there. He was special. He was. He was. I mean, I was really just a calling before the last time. This is the old captain, or Rodney Third, and it goes from good afternoon, everyone. Mm.

Marty and Joe: Name a more iconic duo – we’re waiting

Marty and Joe. Name a more iconic duo – we’re waiting. Martin Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall became a lovable broadcast duo for 31 years from 1974 to 2004. They discussed the exploits of the Big Red Machine and compared notes on garden tomatoes. The fans just called them Marty and Joe. Each of them developed a distinctive unsubscribe line. Nuxhall, a former Reds pitcher, would say he “takes third place and goes home,” a saying remembered by lights outside the Great American Ball Park. Brennaman would end any victory by declaring that “this one is one of the Reds”. Check out the archive video above.
