CINCINNATI – Kroger plans to hire 10,000 new employees for its national grocery brands as part of a one-day recruitment event scheduled for Thursday.
The hybrid event from the Cincinnati-based grocer will feature both in-store and virtual interviews for prospective employees in retail, e-commerce, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and logistics, CNBC reported.

According to Fox Business, the hiring event will fill vacancies in the company’s eponymous Kroger stores as well as at its more than a dozen brands, including Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, Ralphs and Dillons. The company also owns the e-commerce company Home Chef and Fred Meyer Jewelers.
“Our goal at the Kroger family of companies to nourish the human spirit shapes our culture and drives our growth strategy and employers in the US,” said Dawn Gilmore, director of talent acquisition at Kroger, in a prepared statement.
Although the grocer added an estimated 100,000 employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, a Kroger spokesman told CNBC that many of those workers have since returned to their pre-pandemic employers.
Other grocery chains that have recently stepped up their hiring include Albertsons, Aldi, Lidl, Publix, Stop and Shop, and 7-Eleven, Fox Business reported.
