Where else would competitive eater and hot dog lover Joey Chestnut want to celebrate National Hot Dog Day except in Cincinnati?
Chestnut, perhaps best known for winning the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, will perform at Kroger On the Rhine Eatery on July 21st to celebrate National Food Day.
Nathan’s Famous will host the event from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Downtown Kroger on East Court Street
The company will be distributing free hot dogs and hosting a meet-and-greet with Chestnut, as well as giveaways, games and a special fundraising presentation that will donate more than 160,000 servings of protein to Cincinnati’s Freestore Foodbank.
The annual hot dog eating contest, held on July 4th each year, was Chestnut’s win for the 14th consecutive year. He ate 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes, a new world record.
Chestnut has been to Cincinnati before and participated in the Bratwurst Eating Championship at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. In 2018 he inhaled 68 Gliers brats in 10 minutes.
