ALLIANCE, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Jane Johanson 89 of Alliance passed away peacefully on Thursday March 25, 2021.
She was born on November 23, 1931 in Russelville, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Agnes (Kemp) Hollaway.
She graduated from Alliance High School and worked for the law firms Hunter & Hunter and Geiger & Teeple.
Jane has been very active in the First Baptist Church of Alliance as a Sunday School teacher, member of the diaconate, and other Church roles. She was also very active at Tadmor Shrine (a member of the Ladies Shrine Club) and the Alliance Shrine Club with her husband Earl, who passed away in June 2019. She was also a member of the Alliance Women’s Club.
She is survived by her three children, Jennifer (Dennis) Miller from Cincinnati, Ohio, Lorie Schillig from Lewisburg, Tennessee, and Fred Johanson from Alliance. eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her brother Ray Hollaway and her son-in-law Rick Schillig died before her.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alliance.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Rev. Joshua Smith will officiate.
The funeral will take place in Fairmount Memorial Park.
Commemorative donations can be made in Jane’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Alliance and the Alliance Shrine Club Transportation Unit.
