Good morning, Charlie – Red Reporter

Good Thing This Morning – A good thing this morning is that both Shogo Akiyama and Sonny Gray are going through their respective rehabilitation processes quite well and should be back with the Reds soon. Sonny could be ready to throw stones at the Cleveland baseball club on Friday night. So this is a good thing.

Some crummy shit – Joey Votto has crushed baseball so far this season with ten well hit kegs in the first nine games. His BABIP on these laserballs in play, however, Mendoza is lousy.

Another good thing –

Anthony DeSclafani wins. Wandy Peralta pegs it down. Curt Casali saw everything. The former Reds beat the Rockies 4-0 to complete a sweep. You won’t be celebrating with Skyline Chili.

Here’s a strange thing – the start eight of the Reds has been hammering against relentless pitching so far in the young season. At least seven out of eight:

Other things – you would think that we are all facing a pandemic and people are losing their jobs and food banks that are unable to keep up with demands that the state government bother to do something damned to do, but you idiots should have stopped thinking long ago some time ago.

Jack Palance was a fucking son of a bitch, I’ll tell you in a moment. And surely I must ascribe timeless wisdom to him regarding cattin ‘ass.

CTrent talked to the new man about all the new things. I’ve caught a decent number of innings so far this season (no thanks to MLB.tv and Bally Sports and your Cincinnati Reds and all those dingoes who can’t figure out how to share all the money I want to give them in exchange for their product and so they decide they don’t take my money at all and don’t give me anything for it (the idiots) and I liked what I saw of him.

I think what I noticed the most is how refreshing it is to watch my favorite baseball team, and the TV guy sounds like he actually wants to be here with me at this baseball game. George Grande always had that, despite his whole ecclesiastical welcome. It wasn’t what I hated most about the brand names, but it was up there.

We have plenty of time to develop antipathies, big and small, real and conceited to this guy, but as a first impression he does a hell of a job.
