About a month before the regular season, and facing the first OHSAA state tournament since 2019, the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association fired the top ten teams in southwest Ohio.
At the top of the polls in Division I, Mason ranks first with 11 votes, followed by St. Xavier and Sycamore, each with one vote in first place.
Mason took a 4-1 lead on Monday and lost early to Louisville St. Xavier. They defeated Indian Hill 4-1 on April 9th. The first single player Vignesh Gogineni is 3-0.
Indian Hill tops the Division II poll in first place by three votes, with the undefeated Seven Hills taking the other.
Indian Hills has taken on several Division I programs and is scheduled against St. Xavier (Tuesday April 13) and Mason (Friday April 16) this week. Seven Hills won early on against the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and Cincinnati Country Day, beating DI teams Loveland and Anderson.
The Stingers’ first single player Ari Mahajan was unbeaten 5-0 on Monday.
Other top players in the region include Anderson single player Payson Scott (6-1) and Mariemont’s Will Stephens at 4-0. In doubles, Kevin Dong / Arjun Rajagopala from Sycamore are 3-0; Mariemont’s Will Glassmeyer / Riley Whitemore are 4-0 and Harrison’s CJ Wesseler / Rocky Weber are 3-0.
The best games of the week in Division I are St. Xavier at Elder on Tuesday; Moeller on Summit Country Day (Thursday); Sycamore plays St. Xavier on Mondays and CCD on Wednesdays; Lakota East plays Mason on Wednesday and Anderson plays Oak Hills on Wednesday.
In Division II, Indian Hill Madeira has Mondays and Mariemont Wednesdays; Seven Hills is Summit Country Day Tuesday and Walnut Hills is Friday.

The boys’ season culminates with the return of the OHSAA state tournament to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, home of the Western-Southern Tennis Open. The boys’ tournament will take place from May 28th to 29th.
