Good morning Cleveland Browns fans!
Welcome to another edition of the OBR Newswire, a feature that has been an integral part of the OBR for about 18 months. We used to do a Morning Newswire from 2000 to 2010, but it went away when the OBR team changed and I worked at FOX Sports.
Now that after more than 20 years I can fully focus on the OBR, we brought it back and it has turned into this monster, with multiple sections and tens of thousands of readers every day.
Some days it’s easier to write than others. Some days there is a lot of news with obvious twists, some days it is slower. Some days, like today, I wake up with an impenetrable brain fog that makes it very difficult to focus and write, no matter how much coffee is pushed down my throat. That just makes me a wide-awake, brain-foggy writer.
So the Newswire is a little late today.
What turned it around was this tweet from Pat McAfee, a personality who turned out to be a media outfit:
Good morning beautiful people ..
Don’t be afraid to do something you’ve always dreamed of doing. You might stink this is happening. You could be damn good too.
Let’s enjoy this life. Cheers.

You know he’s right!
You only live once and you have to try. There is no looking back and nothing that comes without risk! So fuck it – this morning I’m going to dip a Twinkie in a glass of Diet Coke and experience both at the same time!
It can fail, it can’t. It might leave a jar of Twinkie pieces, but it’s damn well worth it.
Seriously, McAfee’s encouragement is on your nose. I feel like I’ve tried something new every day for the past year and a half. It took a while, but people reward us with their attention. And THANK YOU for that.
The only weird thing is that we have a ton of readers for this thing, but we get very few comments on it on Twitter or the Watercooler thread.
I have come to the conclusion that this is because there is nothing to be said once I have said my piece. Despite my wife’s suggestions to the contrary, I am, and I am, right about everything. Once I have said something, that is all there is to be said on the subject and therefore there is no more conversation.
I’m always right and there’s never anything to argue about when I’m done. Yes. That’s it. It has to be.
In this sense, continue with the Newswire and more absolute correctness!
