(CBS DETROIT) – The executives of the Ford Motor Company are no longer known as “chairmen” or “chairmen”, but only as “chairmen”.
The automaker’s board of directors voted on July 8 to change the statutes to include gender-neutral language for these roles.

Ford spokeswoman Marisa Bradley told the Detroit Free Press on Monday June 12, “Our roles at Ford are non-gender-specific, and these changes will help limit ambiguity and advance the inclusive and equitable culture we seek.”

This means that the executive chairman is now the executive chairman.
General Motors confirms the change was made back in May.
