The 2021 Ford Bronco and Ford Mustang Mach 1 VIN 001 bagged Bookoo Bonkers banana dollars at last month’s Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The duo collectively raised $ 1,575,000 for two great causes.

In the wild and to win: The new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is already causing a sensation

On the opening night of the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 VIN 001 hit the block. The first Mach 1 production run in Fighter Jet Gray with the handling package had a $ 500,000 shipment when the final hammer fell. All of this princely sum goes to longtime partner JDRF, who is contributing to the $ 70 million Ford has raised for the organization over 35 years.

The following day, Ford broke out the big guns by auctioning the rights to the Ford Bronco First Edition VIN 001 from 2021. When the dust settled, the first Bronco two-door model built in the last 25 years made a cool $ 1 million and some tweaking. These proceeds go to the Bronco Wild Fund, which supports the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound.

“These vehicles were fiercely advertised as it was a rare opportunity for the public to own a very special Ford and to help charities that are making a lasting impact on society,” said Dave Pericak, global director of Ford Icons. “We’re delighted that Ford Motor Company has helped raise $ 1.575 million for these good causes.”

Ford and Barrett-Jackson have partnered for charity for 15 years and raised nearly $ 13.5 million.

Shelby Cobra, Ford GTs sell for a lot of money

This year’s Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale was also pretty Ford-heavy all round with three of the weekend’s top-earning vehicles coming from the Blue Oval line. The # 1 vehicle for the weekend was a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake, which grossed $ 5.5 million and more than doubled the hammer price of the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB / 4 in 2nd place. So Ford beats Ferrari again.

The third and fourth holes featured a 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition and a 2017 Ford GT for a total of $ 1,210,000 and $ 990,000, respectively.

That year, a total of 1,054 vehicles were auctioned in Scottsdale, selling for more than $ 95 million. The 2021 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale raised a total of $ 5.8 million for charity, including the $ 1.5 million raised from the Ford Bronco First Edition and Ford Mustang Mach 1 VIN 001 were withdrawn.
