FC Cincinnati winger Isaac Atanga of Ghana | Field level

FC Cincinnati took over Ghanaian winger Isaac Atanga through a transfer from Danish FC Nordsjaelland.

The 20-year-old Atanga signed a three-year contract with two additional years of options, the MLS club announced on Wednesday.

He will occupy an international roster slot and, after receiving his international documents, join the 2021 roster.

“We have been working on adding a winger who has a different game profile than the players who are currently on our list,” said Gerard Nijkamp, general manager of Cincinnati, in a press release. “Isaac is a player who attacks opponents with speed and creates chances by stepping behind the defense. We are delighted to have Isaac join our club and look forward to seeing him in Cincinnati.”

Atanga has scored five goals in 19 games (10 starts) in the Danish Superliga this season. He has 12 goals and five assists in 58 career appearances in all competitions for FC Nordsjaelland.
