Employee union Kroger angry about contract negotiations: “Our members are of the opinion that the company has not gone far enough”

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – No agreement is yet in sight between Kroger and the union of their employees. Your contact has already been established.

But many union members are still not satisfied with the company’s contract.

Members of the union have already voted against the Kroger contract proposal, saying they “overwhelmingly rejected it”. You are still not happy. But I hope that tonight they can make progress in their meeting.

There are only a few minor changes the union claims to be working with. The union says some members may have a concern or two while others may raise a number of issues. It is unclear what exactly these concerns are.

But the union hopes everyone will come to an agreement soon.

“I think Kroger needs to listen to what their employees are saying. They’re here in the stores every day. They are the ones who are face to face with customers, especially last year during the pandemic. You have remained very loyal to the company. You work really hard. I hope Kroger listens to the things that worry them most and tries to address them. “

The union plans to vote this week and is hoping to take a decision on Friday. The union then says they will decide whether or not to approve the company’s proposal and if they do not they will discuss the next steps.

7 News has already asked for a comment from Kroger but we are still waiting for feedback.
