”I’ve been to Forno a handful of times and the food is always fresh and delicious. I especially like the burrata, goat cheese and honey bruschetta, Elena pizza (has a strong truffle oil and Gorgonzola flavor yummm), tagliatelle bolognese, gnocchi and truffled cream corn (more truffle oil yummm). I haven’t tried their brunch but I’d like to try their pancakes sometime.
Even more outstanding than their food is their service. I got held up at work so picked up my order (Elena pizza) one hour after it was ready. Both the woman handling the to-go orders and the chef insisted on preparing a fresh, hot pizza for me free of charge– even though it was 100% MY FAULT for picking up my order late!! I was shocked by their generosity. On top of that, they gave me free panna cotta after they heard I work in the medical field! I still can’t believe I picked up my food late and left with twice as much food plus a dessert for free. Who does that?! I’m blown away by their kindness” — Erica H.

”Hands down the best value tacos I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant ever. I’ve had Mazunte, Condado, Los Potrillos, Bakersfield, etc. and each are good in their own right and I wouldn’t not eat there. However, Veracruz just hits differently in a most delicious fashion. I haven’t had any other entree option except the tacos and that’s all the more reason to keep coming back. As long as I can grab a taco here I’m more than satisfied. Plus, it’s not a huge dent in my wallet, which is nice. What’s so special about Veracruz? Simplicity. They don’t do anything gimicky or try to be anything more than an authentic local Mexican restaurant.” — Edward C.

Watch the pasta being made.

Having been to this adorable hole in the wall Thai restaurant before, I knew it was the place to go to satisfy my craving. Only 35 minutes later I found myself standing in front of a cheerful Thai woman with my pick-up order nicely packaged in a tray with soy sauce and chopsticks in a brown bag. The sushi was delicious, fresh and three rolls per person was a bit ambitious. My eyes definitely did the ordering this time. All in all, great service and quality. Would recommend it!” — Rachelle J.

”It looks like a typical Chinese restaurant when you enter, but the food here is actually great and not your typical take-out Chinese restaurant. The restaurant was packed at 5pm on a Saturday. Their entrées were different from what you see in most restaurants. The flavors were great and staff were helpful in selecting entrées.
We got the crab Rangoon, dumplings, sichuan sizzling chicken and the sichuan fish (can’t remember which one, but it comes in a lot of broth). The two entrées were some of their most popular items according to the waitress and they did not disappoint. The food was extra spicy like the way we ordered it.” — Ami P.

These buns were no exception, they were everything they should be. The fillings were delicious. I didn’t expect the chicken bun to be made of ground chicken but it was good nonetheless. The beef bun was by far my favorite. The flavor is so savory and the crispy onion bits take it to the next level. The grapefruit shake up was only $3.00 but so tasty! I would easily pay double for it. It reminds me of a grapefruit bubble tea. Also the cucumber salad was slight and fresh. Overall, Boombox is amazing. Go get you some buns!” — Tiara A.

”Kiss cake is a newly opened Asian bakery in the same strip mall as CAM and Sichuan Chili. If just one more Asian business opened up there, it’d be an Asian central in Cincinnati. The owner is a mother who opened a bakery, with room to expand, to please her daughter, who was unsatisfied with the lack of Asian bakeries in Cincinnati. And thus, Kiss Cake is a mother’s response to her daughter’s persistent request.
All the cakes, breads, and cookies are typical Asian flavors, and tend to lean more toward traditional Chinese baked goods. She hand makes everything the day of (as explained by the owner) and they contain only the simplest ingredients with no preservatives.” — Sarah C.

Lots of the classics are still there, seems like they’ve just trimmed it down. Their Parmesan garlic tater tots have recently switched to a Parmesan Rosemary. This is a great improvement, total upgrade. The garlic and truffle oil was way too overpowering before and now they are perfect! The environment is super unique and fun, I’d recommend it for lunch, dinner, drinks, etc. It is a little bit of a smaller restaurant so be prepared to wait during busy hours! ”Buddah Barn is ment to be a dine in experience. Patrons are to sit, relax, and enjoy. That being said, we placed an order for take-out. We were looking for something to enjoy for dinner while checking out nearby 13 Below Brewery. Both establishments have been on my list of places to try for some time, and this seemed like a way to check both out, on a time crunch.
After perusing the Buddha Barn menu online, I called ahead with our order. Pad Thai with chicken, Gaga Gangpa with beef, cashew pineapple with chicken, pineapple fried rice, and meatball skewers were our order. (The Gaga and pineapple cashew chicken both came with steamed jasmine rice.) When they ask what spice level you want they are not playing around. Most of the people in our party love spicy food. We were pleasantly surprised to find this is truly the type of spice one expects from Thai food. The spiciest level we tried was an eight. (We ordered items between two and eight.) The eight was spicy. Half an hour after eating my tounge was still burning. It was a good burn. The kind of burn you know you will crave again later. My favorite was the pad Thai. There was a great balance of flavor.” — Elyse F.

In fact, I enjoyed it so much that my husband and I ordered the whole duck the second time ($32). The skin is perfectly crispy while the meat is juicy and tender. As a California native, I have been looking for a place to satisfy my roast duck cravings. The garlic rice and pickled veggies are also delicious side options, though a larger portion would have been nice. On top of the great food, the service is personable and kind. Around the holiday time, they gave us a complimentary goody bag with Lindt truffles which was a sweet touch. The chef also came out to introduce himself to us. You can tell he truly cares about the quality of his food. This is absolutely a place that is worth trying!” — Cathy N.
