Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in the running for 10Bests ‘best zoo’

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is currently named the best zoo in the United States by 10Best.

In 10Best surveys, the nominees are selected by the editors and the winners by popular vote. As of Tuesday morning, the Cincinnati Zoo ranks second behind the Fort Worth Zoo. There’s not even Fiona (or any of the less adorable famous hippos)!

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Denver Zoo, and Columbus Zoo and Aquarium are also in the running.

“The Cincinnati Zoo (one of the oldest zoos in the country) puts visitors in touch with a variety of exciting animals. Guests can watch hippos underwater (including the world-famous Fiona hippo), bubble in a bubble amid meerkats, or watch cheetahs, who run at top speed, “said 10Best of USA TODAY. “The multi-sensory night hunter exhibit is home to cats and other nocturnal predators, while Manatee Springs seeks the long-term conservation of the Florida manatee by encouraging guests to observe these gentle giants.”
