Cincinnati Reds are offering discounted tickets to vaccinated fans

The MLB franchise is said to be the first U.S. sports team to offer vaccination incentives.

Major League Baseball (MLB) Cincinnati Reds are offering discounted playing cards to fans who have received a coronavirus vaccination.

The franchise said that View level tickets will be available at a discounted price of $ 10 for those who show their Covid-19 vaccination card with at least one completed dose.

According to MLB.com, the Reds are the first US sports team to offer a vaccination incentive

Offer valid at the team’s ticket booths in the team’s Great American Ball Park for games played Monday through Thursday in April and May. A maximum of six tickets can be purchased with each vaccination card displayed.

After purchase, the tickets are issued digitally via the MLB Ballpark app to enable contactless access.

As of April 8, 32.8 percent of the Ohio population had received at least one dose of vaccine, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This corresponds to the national average of around 33 percent for having received at least one dose.

CDC adds that 19.5 percent of the Ohio population has been fully vaccinated, also in line with the national average.
