Cincinnati Local Opens New Mexican Walk-In Window in OTR

Andrew Gomez’s famous turtle shell

(FOX19) – This March, Cincinnati’s Andrew Gomez is opening a new Mexican walk-in window called Gomez Salsa, right in the heart of Over-the-Rhine.

Gomez stopped by FOX19 Morning News to make one of his favorite dishes, the turtle shell, or what he likes to call “The Hybrid Burrito”.

This delicious menu item is filled with cheddar jack cheese, rice, beans, sour cream, a full tostada chip, the famous Gomez salsa, and much more.

Gomez started making salsa and Mexican food in college to make some money. Now it is attracting a lot of attention on site.

Gomez informs FOX19 that this new Mexican restaurant will be based on the famous Gomez salsa recipe handed down from his Abuela.

The idea is simple: you can go straight to the Gomez salsa window, get your food, and go!

Gomez Salsa is on the corner of 12th and Walnut Streets, right next to the new craft beer spot HalfCut.

That’s not all, Gomez and friends are doing all of the construction themselves to make sure the building is up and running by the end of March.

This new Mexican place across the Rhine will be open for lunch, dinner and any time of the day! They will also offer a homemade taco bar, catering, and late night delivery.
