Cincinnati Enquirer appoints high school athletes of the week ending November 20th

In a poll that ended November 20, readers of Cincinnati.com selected winners for the Cincinnati Enquirer Athlete of the Week, presented by Mercy Health for the November 9-15 voting period.

The winners will receive a certificate sent through the school’s sports department at the end of the season.

You don’t have to be a subscriber to vote. This period lasts every Monday afternoon until 5 p.m. during the season. Please send all nominations for the previous week’s performances to [email protected] by Monday morning. The new ballot will be published on Monday evening. You can vote once an hour from any device.

This week’s winners are:

Fall team: Mount Notre Dame volleyball – After seeing Padua Franciscan in the first game between 25 and 14, the Cougars awoke and defeated the Bruins in three consecutive games to win the match and pile on the gym floor for MND’s first national title since 2015 to celebrate.

Soccer players: Zach Branam, La Salle – In the loss to Massillon Washington on Friday, the quarterback ran 25 times for a height of 150 meters. This was the fifth time in six games that he dwarfed 100 yards on the ground.

Football players for boys: Tanner Creech, St. Xavier – The junior scored the only goal in their 2-1 loss to New Albany in the Division I semi-final match on November 11th.

Girl soccer player: Jada Moorman, Cincinnati Country Day – The junior scored goals in both the semi-final win over Columbus Academy and overtime against Kirtland on November 14th.

Girls’ volleyball: Carly Hendrickson, Mount Notre Dame – The Florida-based junior led the Cougars with 20 kills in the state final, a game they won 3-2, with 15 kills and one block in defeating St. Joseph Academy on Friday night.
