Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow urges a reunion with Ja’Marr Chase

CINCINNATI – There are a lot of people who want the Bengals to select Ja’Marr Chase with the fifth election in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Adding a dynamic playmaker like Chase could change Cincinnati’s offense.

The star-wide recipient ended 2019 with 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns and helped LSU achieve a 15-0 success on the way to a national championship. At only 19 years old, he was an average of 21.2 meters per reception

Burrow is hoping to reunite with Chase in Cincinnati, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.

“It is said on the street that Joe Burrow is looking for Cincy to bring his old Tiger teammate to Ohio,” wrote Breer. “And the signing of Riley Reiff gives the Bengals the flexibility to add a playmaker who is an ideal match for their quarterback.”

Burrow was asked about a possible reunion in January. He was more than open to the idea.

“Yeah, I wouldn’t mind,” said Burrow. “Ja’Marr is a really good player, it’s pretty easy to throw him when he’s five meters apart on every stroke. He’s an exciting player and a great guy and a friend too. It was fun with him to play.”

The Bengals pass Oregon versus Penei Sewell for Chase in Breer’s latest draft. If Burrow thinks Chase will be a differentiator, maybe Cincinnati should listen to their star quarterback.

There will be lots of high quality offensive linemen in the second and third rounds of the draft.
