BYD’s forklifts division has expanded its presence in the Southwest Ohio market with a new dealership agreement for its electric forklifts.

BYD Material Handling has entered into an agreement with MidWest Industrial Equipment that provides forklift sales, service, parts, equipment rental and operator training. The dealership has locations in Piqua and Cincinnati, Ohio.

“By partnering with MidWest Industrial, customers in Ohio get BYD’s clean, innovative technology. This technology will improve your production and improve your bottom line, ”said Terry Rains, director of the forklift division of BYD North America. “MidWest Industrial is an ideal partner for BYD who has a strong focus on customer service and decades of industry experience.”

BYD’s material handling equipment simplifies operations by providing a multi-shift, single-battery solution, eliminating battery replacement, battery cooling and battery swapping.

“With BYD, MidWest can expand our presence in the Dayton and Cincinnati markets. This will give us the opportunity to showcase environmentally friendly materials handling technologies that have not yet been seen in this market, ”said Greg Meyer, President of MidWest Industrial. “As the material handling market is changing and trying to use more sustainable energy, we can now offer them a truly sustainable product. BYD offers us these wonderful opportunities for our current and new customers and saves them tremendous income in the process. “

BYD forklifts are fully charged in less than 90 minutes and can run for up to 15 hours. The forklifts can be operated for 24 hours during occasional charging during breaks and downtimes.

In contrast to lead-acid batteries and some “drop-in” lithium-ion batteries, BYD’s iron phosphate batteries have a high energy density and are environmentally friendly at the same time, according to BYD. There are no special requirements for ventilation, irrigation infrastructure or corrosion protection.

BYD is also the first in the industry to offer a 110 V / 15 A plug-in charger that can be used to charge iron-phosphate batteries. Since an iron-phosphate battery can be charged without any problems, it can even be connected like a mobile phone.

BYD North America Forklift Division is headquartered in Carson, California.
