Ja’Marr Chase lived in Louisiana for most of his life. He was born in Harvey, Louisiana. He attended Archbishop Rummel’s high school in Metairie, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Last month, however, Chase was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with number 5 overall. In case you didn’t know, Cincinnati is not in Louisiana. It’s in Ohio.

Chase is in Cincinnati this week for the team’s rookie mini camp and it seems like he’s pleasantly surprised with what he’s found in his new home. Speaking of ESPN’s Ben Baby, Chase said on Friday, “This isn’t what I envisioned for Cincinnati, so I really like it so far.”

I’m not sure what Chase was expecting from Cincinnati, but I think it’s nice (for both him and the Bengals) that he likes it more than he expected. At least it’s better than if the opposite were true. The Bengals are certainly hoping to keep him and his former LSU teammate Joe Burrow in Cincinnati for some time, so the # 1 new recipient who likes the city is a pretty good start.
