The sleazy Matt Gaetz saga is getting more and more disturbing

The fact that this guy is a seated member of Congress shows how low we are setting the bar for our (male) politician Matt Gaetz: a man who has spent his career indulging in scandal rather than actually doing his job do. Photo: Michael Brochstein / Sopa Images / Rex / Shutterstock A Guide to Navigating ‘Gaetzgate’ Matt Gaetz’s story increasingly reads like a script written by a pervert containing a cocktail of ADHD drugs and MDMA. Even if you’ve followed closely the recent controversy from the scandalous Republican Congressman, it is difficult to keep track of what is happening on earth. Here’s a guide on how to navigate the saga far. First and foremost, it was established that federal investigations are being initiated against Gaetz for sexual misconduct. On Tuesday, the New York Times reported that the Department of Justice (DoJ) is investigating whether 38-year-old Gaetz “had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid to travel with him.” If these claims are true, Gaetz could potentially have violated federal sex trafficking laws. According to the Times, the allegations are part of a broader investigation into a political ally of Gaetz’s named Joel Greenberg, a Florida tax collector who was charged with child sex trafficking last year, among other charges. Greenberg has also reportedly misused public funds to buy servers for a cryptocurrency company, as well as guns, ammunition and a drone. Like you do After the Times published the story, Gaetz Axios confirmed that he has been investigated for sexual misconduct at the federal level and is concerned about prosecution. More predictably, however, he insists that he is indeed the victim in all of this and has said that “no part of the charges” against him is true. Gaetz, who is currently engaged to a woman who is 12 years younger than him, claimed that he was a “generous” partner in his individual days and that he paid for flights and hotel rooms. “I think someone is trying to make this look criminal when it isn’t,” he said. Why would anyone want to do this? In a statement released Tuesday, Gaetz said he and his family were “the victims of organized criminal blackmail involving a former DoJ official seeking $ 25 million while threatening to smear my name.” He claims the investigation was a cover for blackmail and suggested that it has been linked to the “Biden White House”. Which is an odd claim considering the New York Times reports that the investigation into Gaetz, a Donald Trump loyalist, began in the final months of the Trump administration under then Attorney General William Barr. This is where it gets really weird. According to the Washington Post, some grifters who learned of the Gaetz investigation decided to take the opportunity to blackmail the congressman’s father. They reportedly wrote to Don Gaetz saying that there were pictures of his son with “child prostitutes”; However, they would help Gaetz if he gave them a large amount of money. The idea, called Project Homecoming, was that they would use this money to find and rescue Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who was kidnapped in Iran in 2007. Levinson, presumably dead, would be heroically saved by Gaetz ;; Joe Biden would be so thrilled with the rescue that he would forgive Gaetz. The final result? It seems plausible that Gaetz is really involved in a bizarre blackmail act. However, there are two possible scenarios here. Scenario one: Gaetz did nothing wrong and is telling the truth about being the victim of a far-reaching conspiracy staged by his political rivals that began when Gaetz’s buddy Trump was in power. Scenario two: there is no major conspiracy against the congressman; A few opportunists just rushed to investigate him to make money. I don’t know about you, but the second scenario seems more plausible to me. Ultimately, it’s important not to let the whole drama distract from the real problem, which is that a seated congressman appears to be under investigation for sex trafficking and has ties to a man who has already been charged with sex trafficking. It doesn’t look really good for Gaetz. In fact, it looks so bad that Gaetz’s communications officer abruptly left his job on Friday. While the allegations against Gaetz are still under investigation, it is worth noting that Gaetz previously faced allegations of disrupting sexual behavior. In January 2020, Republican Congressman Chris Latvala tweeted that Gaetz “created a game that gave members of the FL House” points “for sleeping with aides, interns, lobbyists and married lawmakers.” Gaetz also reportedly bragged about his sexual exploits and showed other lawmakers nude photos of women he’d slept with. According to CNN, he showed these photos to his colleagues while he was at work. Incidentally, Gaetz was also the only legislator who voted against a non-partisan law to combat human trafficking. Some of his colleagues have also commented on “love of alcohol and illegal drugs and his affinity for younger women”. I don’t know exactly what Gaetz did or not, but I do know that he spent his career indulging in scandal instead of actually doing his job. He even joked with Elon Musk last week about what a scandal he was involved in would be called GaetzGate. The fact that this guy is a seated member of Congress is puzzling. It shows how low we set the bar for our (male) politicians. Boy, do I ever regret giving Gaetz the benefit of the doubt I should put on the record that I wrote an article last year saying it was unfair for people to suggest Gaetz had an inappropriate one Relationship with his “son” Nestor. And there is no evidence that the relationship is inappropriate. However, I’ve learned my lesson: Never vaguely defend Matt Gaetz. The Rise of the Granfluencer Two Octogenarians went viral after modeling their grandson’s gender-neutral clothing line at Paris Fashion Week. They are part of a growing trend of “Granfluencers”. Ivanka’s Women’s Advancement Program Isn’t Very Enabling The Government Accountability Office has published a very unflattering report on Ivanka Trump’s women’s advancement initiative. I am sure you are as shocked about this as I am. How Lady Mary Wortley Montagu’s bold experiment led Edward Jennner to invent the smallpox vaccine in 1796. It turned out to be building on the work of one woman: Lady Mary Wortley Montagu had successfully vaccinated her three-year-old daughter several decades before Jenner’s experiments. Of course, at that time she got no recognition for her ideas and was denounced as an “ignorant woman”. Andrew Cuomo is fighting to build a skyscraper called Penn15 in Manhattan. I wish this was a joke, but it isn’t. The New York governor faces a number of scandals but is refusing to step down and is reportedly obsessed with this real estate project. Maybe because the people behind it gave a lot of money for its campaigns. The Week at Pawtriarchat The only person who could be worse at their job than Cuomo is the genius who reportedly tried to pass off a golden retriever as a lion in a Chinese zoo. The zookeeper may have been inspired a few weeks earlier by an incident at another zoo in China where a rottweiler was housed in what was supposed to be a wolf cage. Which could be funny if a lot of Chinese zoos weren’t notoriously cruel.
